The day-to-day operation of Aberdeen Village is led by dedicated professionals who bring a wealth of experience and specialized expertise to their positions. As employees of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, our promise to you is to live our mission by:

Tim Allin, Executive Director

Tim was named executive director of Aberdeen Village in June 2007. He joined us after serving more than 20 years as administrator of geriatric services and resident care at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. A graduate of Wichita State University, Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in gerontology.


Chrissie Ammann, Marketing & Sales Director

Chrissie brings extensive experience in senior living to Aberdeen Village. Prior to moving to Olathe, she was a senior living counselor at Wichita Presbyterian Manor. Before joining Presbyterian Manor, she directed sales and marketing for communities in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Junction City, Kansas. Chrissie is eager to connect with potential residents, provide a listening ear and share the life-enriching benefits available at Aberdeen Village.


Stephanie Oehlert, Director of Sales & Marketing, Assisted Living & Healthcare

Stephanie joined Aberdeen Village in September 2016. She previously worked in media placement for advertising agencies for more than 20 years, most recently for an agency specializing in senior living. She has a bachelor of arts degree in French and marketing from Southern Connecticut State University.


Kenneth Gitobu, Human Resource Director

Kenneth joined Aberdeen Village as a certified medication aide in June 2004 after serving as human resource assistant at HCR Manor Care. He was previously an accountant in the food service industry. A graduate of Strathmore College in Kenya and Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Kenneth holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Pittsburg State University. He is certified as a professional in human resources and is a member of the National Society of Human Resource Management as well as the Institute of Human Resource Management in Kenya. Outside of work, Kenneth serves as an officer in the local Knights of Columbus and a volunteer for Scout Pack 3383.


Matilda Rosenberg, Social Services Director

Matilda joined our team as a social worker in August 2007. She previously served as director of social work for Village Shalom and as a home health social worker with the Visiting Nurse Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Portland State University and a Certified Master Social Worker degree from University of Kansas.


Janelle Erickson, Social Worker

Janelle Erickson joined Aberdeen Village in 2011 with a passion to serve. After graduating from the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor’s of Social Work, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in Social Gerontology from the University of Central Missouri. With sound education under her belt, Janelle applied her knowledge and dedication in her role in protective services, with the Department of Children and Family Services. From there, Janelle went on to become the Volunteer Coordinator for Shepherd’s Center, which empowers mid-life and older adults to live healthy, engaged and independent lives. As a social worker at Aberdeen Village, Janelle puts her wealth of experience and love for seniors to work. She is instrumental in providing for the needs of Aberdeen Village residents, while giving peace of mind to their families.


Heather Benney, Health Services Director

Heather joined Aberdeen Village in March of 2016. She previously worked as a director of nursing at two other senior living communities in eastern Kansas. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Heather holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing with her area of study in Leadership in Nursing and Healthcare Systems. Prior to her work in senior living, Heather worked in acute care and has experience in emergency, surgical and psychiatric nursing.


Linda Mwanzi, Assisted Living Director

Linda was named assisted living director in September 2016. She most recently was weekend supervisor and assistant health care coordinator at another area senior living community for the past 10 years. Linda’s not new to Aberdeen Village, though. She worked at Aberdeen from 2003 to 2005, when she left to attend nursing school, and again in 2006. She received her LPN from Kansas City Community College and her RN/BSN from MidAmerica Nazarene University. She is working toward her master of business administration and master of science nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Linda does volunteer work with children in Kenya.


Sandy Barnes, Recreation Services Director

Sandy Barnes has a strong track record of caring for seniors. Her enthusiasm to help older adults enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle has morphed her vast experience in the senior industry into a role that is sure to please residents in all levels of care. With a background spanning over 30 years, Sandy’s responsibilities have included positions in healthcare, as well as recreational activities. After moving from her beloved hometown of Elkhart, Kansas, to be closer to family, Sandy became a natural fit for the Recreation Services Manager for healthcare and assisted living, at Aberdeen Village. She has since advanced to Recreations Services Director for the entire community. Sandy strives every day to offer “the way you want to live” opportunities matching up with the needs and wishes of Aberdeen Village residents.


Cory Gerner, Environmental Services Director

A native Nebraskan, Cory Gerner brings his experience and “hands on” approach to Aberdeen Village. After graduation with an applied science associate degree in building construction, from Southeast Community College, in Milford, Nebraska, Cory began his career as lead carpenter for Reese Construction. Years later, Cory landed in Kansas City and has been with Aberdeen Village since 2007. Cory’s expertise quickly elevated him from maintenance tech to supervisor. Now as Director of Environmental Services, Cory oversees the maintenance and housekeeping operations of Aberdeen Village. Working hands on with his staff, as well as managing the customer relations with residents and vendors, Cory strives for excellence in maintaining smooth operations on all levels at Aberdeen Village.


Norma Kester, Dining Services Director

Norma returned to Aberdeen Village in October 2004, after working for a year as food service director at Mid-America Rehab Hospital. She had previously served as assistant food service director here. Prior experience includes 16 years as food service manager for the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department. Norma received dietary manager training from University of Florida. Her credentials from the Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professionals include certified dietary manager and certified food protection professional. She has also earned ServSafe certification.


John Westmacott, Accounting Assistant

John joined Aberdeen Village in January 2017. He previously was the accounting assistant at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City for 20 years. Before joining the staff, he performed with the Military Academy Band at West Point for 14 years and worked as a claims examiner for the SSA Program Service Center in Kansas City. He is an adjunct instructor of drums for Dodge City Community College. He performs throughout June and July with the Dodge City Municipal Band and annually at the Smokey Hill River Festival with the Acme Fife and Drum Corps and plays in the pit orchestra for the Dodge City High School musical as a volunteer.


Jose Diaz, Assistant Director, Dining Services

As Assistant Director of Dining Services, Jose Diaz has a full plate, at Aberdeen Village! He cooks, trains and oversees the hard work of over 50 people. Jose’s certification in Kitchen Management from Piccadilly Café Restaurants, as well as his Servsafe Food Safety Management certification, have served him well in his over 25 years in food service. His mix of casual and fine dining experience, along with his years in retirement communities makes for a successful recipe in ensuring residents enjoy delicious meals and great service.


Diane Gunsolley, Chaplain

Diane joined Kansas City Presbyterian Manor in August 2012. Before joining Presbyterian Manor she served as chaplain at Southern Care Hospice, Lee Summit, Missouri; and at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa; and she spent 20 years in the school system in Rock Island, Illinois, as a high school Spanish teacher. Diane holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish/English from Central University of Iowa, and has completed two units of clinical pastoral education. She is a member of Grief Support Network, and a participant in International House of Prayer.
