Aberdeen artists among Art is Ageless® masterpiece level winners 2018

Three winning artists in Aberdeen Village’s annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2019 Art is Ageless Calendar produced by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America.

“Snowbird,” a painting by Peggy Elliott, “Kansas Sunflowers,” a drawing by Carol Rondinelli and “Memories by the Old Milk House,” a drawing by Kay Ruen will appear in the calendar when it is released this fall.

In addition, “Christmas Among the Birch Trees,” a drawing by Shirley Dixon will be featured on a Christmas card. “Strawberry Splash,” a drawing by Ed Duman and “My Secret Garden,” a painting by Joan Goss will be featured in the honorable mention gallery in the calendar when it is released this fall.

Works by local winners are automatically entered into a masterpiece level competition with winning art from 16 other PMMA communities. The winners are featured in the Art is Ageless calendar and notecards.

“Our art programs are such an important part of life at Aberdeen Village,” said Chrissie Ammann, sales and marketing director. “When our residents take part in our art programs, they have found an outlet for their creativity and passion. We are so impressed and proud of the level of artistry that is shown in the Art Is Ageless Program, and we're thrilled that some of our artists will be featured in the calendar!"

Art is Ageless, open exclusively to people age 65 and older, is a copyrighted program of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America. For the competition, works must have been completed in the past five years.

Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s Art is Ageless program encourages Aberdeen Village residents and other area seniors to express their creativity through its annual competition, as well as art classes, musical and dramatic events, educational opportunities and current events discussions throughout the year.

Residents and friends of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America’s Art is Ageless program are proving that art, in any form, is an ageless ambition.
