Aberdeen Village’s Art is Ageless® exhibit and reception features senior artists

Since the beginning of time, creative expression has brought joy to both its creators and those who experience their art. The Art is Ageless® program offers senior artists the opportunity to share and display their artwork and reaffirms the agelessness of human creativity.This month, their works are on display at Aberdeen Village. “It’s inspiring to see the beautiful pieces these seniors have created,” said Stephanie Oehlert, sales and marketing director.

Aberdeen Village announces Art is Ageless® winners

Art is even more beautiful when shared

Though he doesn't necessarily consider himself an art collector, resident Ed Reynolds knows a beautiful painting when he sees one, and he wants others to see it, too."I've lived here since 2013, but it was just four or five months ago when I decided to get the painting out of storage and give it new life in the library," said Ed. Art is Ageless® call for entries underway

Aberdeen Village has issued a call for entries for the Art is Ageless® juried exhibit to be held April 23 through May 25.Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the 2019 Art is Ageless calendar.

Gerber again share their talents

For the past four years, the grandfather-granddaughter team of Herman and Grace Gerber have displayed their artwork in the Aberdeen Village Art Gallery. Now, with Grace enrolled as a senior at Olathe North High School and considering where she might continue her education, the October exhibit may be the last time the residents of Aberdeen will have an opportunity to see her artwork.
