EVERYTHING LISTED UNDER: Art is Ageless

Art is Ageless is a trademarked program of Aberdeen Village’s parent company, PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America). The program offers senior artists the opportunity to share and display their artwork and reaffirms the agelessness of human creativity.

Local senior artists will be celebrated March 27 through April 30 at Aberdeen Village, as the community hosts its annual Art is Ageless® exhibit and observes the 40th anniversary of the Art is Ageless® program.

Aberdeen Village has issued a call for entries for the Art is Ageless® juried exhibit to be held March 27 – April 30, 2020. Entries of artistic works will be accepted from any area artist who is 65 years of age or older to exhibit and/or compete for an opportunity to be featured in the 40th anniversary Art is Ageless calendar in 2021.Artists may choose to enter the exhibit only.

An experienced oil painter, Sharon Nelson was turned on to pencil drawing as an Aberdeen Village resident and now two of her drawings are receiving accolades through the annual system-wide Art is Ageless® juried competition.Sharon’s colored pencil drawing on mixed media board titled “Golden Years, Golden Gears” was named Best of Show-Amateur at the masterpiece level in the annual competition and will be featured in the Art is Ageless 2020 calendar.

Two winning artists in Aberdeen Village’s annual Art is Ageless® juried competition will be featured in the 2020 Art is Ageless calendar produced by Wichita-based PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America). Aberdeen Village is a PMMA senior living community.“Golden Years, Golden Gears,” a drawing by Sharon Nelson, was named Best of Show – Amateur in the masterpiece level competition.
