STEADY AT THE HELM

At Aberdeen Village, service starts at the top. Our mission is to provide quality services guided by Christian values, and each of us promises to live out this mission every day.

Tim Allin

Executive Director
Tim was named executive director of Aberdeen Village in June 2007. He joined us after serving more than 20 years as administrator of geriatric services and resident care at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. A graduate of Wichita State University, Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in gerontology.

Heather Benney

Clinical Services Administrator
Heather joined Aberdeen Village in March of 2016. She previously worked as a director of nursing at two other senior living communities in eastern Kansas. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Heather holds a master’s degree in Nursing with her area of study in Leadership in Nursing and Healthcare Systems. Prior to her work in senior living, Heather worked in acute care and has experience in emergency, surgical and psychiatric nursing.

Harold Edwards

Sales Director, Independent Living
Harold joined the community in February 2024. He has experience in sales and healthcare, from pharmaceuticals to staffing. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Westminster College. Outside work, Harold likes to spend time with his kids. He enjoys reading, sports, concerts, and cooking.

Megan White

Sales Director, Assisted Living & Health Care
Megan joined Aberdeen Village in October 2023 with experience in senior living in the Kansas City area. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas. Her passion is helping seniors and their families find the right option in assisted living and healthcare. When not working, Megan likes to spend time with her children, family, and friends. She is an avid pickleball player but also enjoys reading and drawing.

Kim Bond

Director Of Nursing
Kim returned to Aberdeen Village by moving up the road from Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. Before that, she worked at the former Kansas City Presbyterian Manor and Aberdeen Village in various roles including charge nurse, wound nurse, house supervisor and assistant director of nursing. Kim is a registered nurse with an associate’s degree in nursing from Brown Mackie College and a degree in nursing from Penn Valley. She has also taught certified nurse assistant classes part-time for Johnson County Community College.

Janelle Erickson

Social Worker
Janelle joined Aberdeen Village in 2011 with a passion to serve. After graduating from the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor’s of Social Work, she went on to earn a master’s degree in Social Gerontology from the University of Central Missouri. With sound education under her belt, Janelle applied her knowledge and dedication in her role in protective services, with the Department of Children and Family Services. From there, Janelle went on to become the Volunteer Coordinator for Shepherd’s Center, which empowers mid-life and older adults to live healthy, engaged and independent lives. As a social worker at Aberdeen Village, Janelle puts her wealth of experience and love for seniors to work. She is instrumental in providing for the needs of Aberdeen Village residents, while giving peace of mind to their families.

Sandy Barnes

Life Enrichment Director
Sandy has a strong track record of caring for seniors. Her enthusiasm to help older adults enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle has morphed her vast experience in the senior industry into a role that is sure to please residents in all levels of care. With a background spanning over 30 years, Sandy’s responsibilities have included positions in healthcare, as well as recreational activities. After moving from her beloved hometown of Elkhart, Kansas, to be closer to family, Sandy became a natural fit for the Recreation Services Manager for healthcare and assisted living, at Aberdeen Village. She has since advanced to Recreations Services Director for the entire community. Sandy strives every day to offer “the way you want to live” opportunities matching up with the needs and wishes of Aberdeen Village residents.

Lia Mason

Human Resources Director
Lia joined Aberdeen Village in October 2022 with years of experience in HR in a healthcare setting. Lia also worked as a CNA with adults with developmental disabilities. In human resources, her passion is creating a caring culture and finding the best talent. Outside work, she enjoys the dog park with her two dogs and likes to do DIY projects.

Luke Land

Business Office Director
Luke joined Aberdeen Village in May 2022 with experience as a center director or supervisors for different types of organizations, from large daycare centers to the YMCA. He has an Associate of Arts Degree from Johnson County Community College. Outside work, Luke likes to spend time with his wife and their three boys. He enjoys board and video games, watching Kansas City area sports teams and going on hikes.

Cory Gerner

Environmental Services Director
A native Nebraskan, Cory brings his experience and “hands on” approach to Aberdeen Village. After graduation with an applied science associate degree in building construction, from Southeast Community College, in Milford, Nebraska, Cory began his career as lead carpenter for Reese Construction. Years later, Cory landed in Kansas City and has been with Aberdeen Village since 2007. Cory’s expertise quickly elevated him from maintenance tech to supervisor. Now as Director of Environmental Services, Cory oversees the maintenance and housekeeping operations of Aberdeen Village. Working hands on with his staff, as well as managing the customer relations with residents and vendors, Cory strives for excellence in maintaining smooth operations on all levels at Aberdeen Village.

Diane Gunsolley

Chaplain
Diane joined our community in August 2012. Prior to that, she served as chaplain at Southern Care Hospice, Lee Summit, Missouri; and at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa; and she spent 20 years in the school system in Rock Island, Illinois, as a high school Spanish teacher. Diane holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish/English from Central University of Iowa, and has completed two units of clinical pastoral education. She is a member of Grief Support Network, and a participant in International House of Prayer.
