Residents enjoy a dog parade

On May 13, our friends from Pets for Life, Inc. came by Aberdeen Village to show us that we are not alone. They brought 19 dogs with them to walk around the outside of our community to bring some smiles to our residents. It was such a great thing to watch happen.

Some residents stayed inside, waving behind windows, and other residents braved the outside to watch the dogs walk by. Smiles were flowing everywhere from the residents, staff and dog owners. Our very own "Bernie" joined in the parade. He is our in-house pet that we have missed since he can't come inside with his owner Ellen, a life enrichment assistant.

Our fearless leader Tim Allin, executive director, walked along with the group to show support and wave to everyone. It was a great turnout. At the end of the walk, the group asked when they could come back and do it again. Of course we said, "Anytime you want!"
