Food drive and pantry program with local church

Aberdeen Village residents are no strangers to giving. Many of our residents have been lifelong givers, with most of them volunteering in some capacity throughout their lives.

For the second year in a row, the residents of Aberdeen Village headed up a food drive for one of our local churches, Covenant Presbyterian. While this church congregation is small in number, it is mighty in its own philanthropic endeavors. Covenant Presbyterian Church has 80 members, but they still manage to serve lunch every weekday and offer a food pantry.

Aberdeen Village had such great success last year with the drive, our residents wanted to help again. With the assistance of our chaplain and some very generous residents, we held a food drive. Together, we collected 307 pounds of food and $555 for the Covenant Presbyterian Church food pantry.

Our residents prove every day that philanthropy is something that sticks with you. Not only does it make you feel good, it does good!
